Euro 2020 breaks record for ticket requests for Euro 2020.
The UEFA Euro 2020 is set to break several records even before it has started. The organizers have reported that an astonishing 28 million+ soccer fans have applied for the 2.5 million tickets available for sale.
The Euro 2020 is set to be a truly special event as it marks the 60th anniversary of the tournament inauguration. The 2020 European Championship is also special this time around as it is being held in 12 different venues all across Europe, from Turkey to the UK. This has aroused the eagerness of fans from not only the participating European countries but also from across the world as the UEFA reported getting ticket requests from over 200 countries.
The figures for the ticket applications are proof enough that the Euro 2020 is set to be even more popular than its predecessor as over 8.9 million fans from the qualifying nations applied for tickets in the first ticket sales stage in December 2019. This is a remarkable three-fold increase in ticket requests as compared to Euro 2016 for the same stage.

Overall, the ticket requests for Euro 2020 is clearly double the number of ticket requests received for Euro 2016. This makes the Euro 2020 the most-demanded European Championship till now.
According to the UEFA, over 50% of ticket requests were for the basic-priced seats for matches at Baku, Bucharest, Budapest, etc which start at EUR 30. Apart from this, the ‘Fans First’ tickets for the semi-final and final match at the Wembley Stadium in London, which are priced at less than EUR 100, have received around 40,000 requests.
